I am replying to your letter dated 19th June, 2013 re the above matter. In May 2008 I wrote to Kilkenny County Council enquiring whether our house was listed on the Record of Protected Structures as we were looking into replacing the windows at that time. Your letter dated 27th May, 2008 stated that there was no listing of the house and to forward a photograph of the house and a site map which I did. Also an appointment was set up for the 13th August at 3 p.m. for Ms. Aine Doyle, Conservation Officer to inspect the property. I waited in that day and she did not turn up. I have heard nothing from the County Council regarding this matter until your recent letter.
We have since gone ahead with necessary repairs to the house which included the removing of the porch and replacing with new porch, replacing most of the windows and doors, removing of and replacing one of the chimneys and replacing facia, down pipes and gutters all of which were in a bad state. We also got some work done to the interior of the house. Work will shortly be completed on the replacement of the remaining windows. This contract has been entered into some months back.
