Mr. McCormack,
We are in receipt of your letter dated 19th June 2013 regarding the proposed addition of our property "Castlegannon NS, built 1887", to Kilkenny County Council's record of protected structures. We have no objections to this proposal as we make every effort to protect the school where possible within our financial means. Our concern is that with our obligation to pay our mortgage on our home - obviously this takes priority and we are not be in a position to spend money on the school building. We currently replace and secure individual roof slates but have not undertaken a complete roof assessment/repair due to expected cost implications. Any assistance from County Council heritage personnel to advise on roof assessment/protection would be appreciated.
